The Rocks holds thirteen accommodation properties in about four walkable blocks, and three of them, Park Hyatt Sydney, Shangri-La Sydney and Four Seasons, are among the most demanding garment-care addresses in the country. HGL collects from all of them. Designer and luxury fabrics are handled as standard here rather than as an exception, every piece is assessed individually against its care label, and every order carries hands-on garment care.
This is a leisure precinct first, and that changes what people actually send. Fewer suits, more silk, linen, cashmere, and the one good outfit packed for a harbourside dinner or a wedding. It is care work rather than volume work. A pleated linen dress that has spent nine hours in an overhead locker does not need a heavy wash cycle, it needs pressing by someone who has done it a few thousand times before.
The other half of the precinct is the budget and heritage end, and it is treated exactly the same way. YHA Sydney Harbour, the Sydney Harbour Bed and Breakfast, The Australian Heritage Hotel and The Mercantile Hotel are all on the daily run. There is no minimum order and no requirement that your property partners with us, so a backpacker sending a week of washing at $6.50 an item books the same way a Park Hyatt guest books a garment bag.

Hand it to the desk any time between 7am and 7pm. Most guests here are heading out to the markets on George Street or up to BridgeClimb on Cumberland Street by mid-morning, so the drop takes thirty seconds on the way past.

Every garment is inspected and matched to its care label before a process is chosen. Delicates are hand-finished, tailoring is steamed on the shoulder, and marks are treated individually at $10.00 rather than run through and hoped for. Hands-on garment care applies to the whole order.

Back to your hotel
Returned to reception pressed and bagged, ready for a dinner at Campbells Cove or an early transfer to the terminal. Express is six hours, which in a precinct four blocks wide means a morning drop is usually back well before you need to dress.

Serving guests across The Rocks
Our route covers the whole heritage precinct: the George Street run north from Circular Quay, Argyle Street through the Argyle Cut, Harrington and Cumberland Streets, Playfair Street and the Campbells Cove dining strip under the Harbour Bridge pylon. We collect from properties beside The Rocks Markets and within a few minutes of BridgeClimb on Cumberland Street, and the Hickson Road frontage at the northern tip is on the same daily leg.
Two things drive laundry demand here. The first is the Overseas Passenger Terminal on Argyle Street. Most Rocks hotels are a two to five minute walk from it, and cruise pre- and post-stays generate a steady run of everything-needs-pressing-before-we-board bookings, along with the reverse: a full case of holiday washing landing the day after a ship comes in. The second is weddings and events at Park Hyatt and Shangri-La, where guests arrive with a garment bag and a very specific deadline.
Because the precinct is so compact, most guests end up walking into the neighbouring ones without noticing. Circular Quay starts at the bottom of George Street, Millers Point & Walsh Bay begins on the far side of the Argyle Cut, and the towers of Barangaroo and the Sydney CBD are ten minutes south. Every one of them is a daily HGL route with the same pricing.

Drop the garment bag at the concierge on arrival, book express, and it is back at reception the same day, usually within six hours. Press and steam is $8.00 an item, so a suit, a shirt and a dress together with the flat $12 delivery comes to well under $50. If the wedding is the following day, book standard and save the difference.
Easily, and post-cruise volume is one of the two things this precinct is built around. Wash and fold is $6.50 an item with no minimum and no maximum, and because the terminal is a few minutes' walk from most Rocks hotels we can collect the morning after you disembark and return it the next day. If you are flying out that evening instead, book express and give us your flight time.
Yes. YHA Sydney Harbour has a staffed reception, and The Australian Heritage Hotel and The Mercantile both have a bar or front desk that will hold a bag for an hour. We collect from all of them on the same run as the harbourfront hotels, at the same prices. If your property genuinely cannot hold anything, pick a timed window at checkout and meet the driver on the street.
No, and almost nobody here is. The Rocks is a walking precinct and guests are out from breakfast onwards, which is why the whole service runs through reception rather than your door. Hand the bag over on the way out, spend the day where you planned, and collect it from the same desk when you come back.
