Hotel laundry and dry cleaning in Millers Point & Walsh Bay

Curtain-up at the Roslyn Packer is half past seven, and the dress has come out of the case with a fold straight across the front of it. We collect from The Langham, Pier One, Hotel Palisade and the Lord Nelson every day of the week, press it properly, and have it back at reception with hours to spare.

Guest laundry in Millers Point & Walsh Bay

Wharves, theatres and a half past seven deadline

A small precinct with an outsized guest profile. The Langham, Sydney anchors Millers Point at the luxury end. Pier One Sydney Harbour sits out over the water on a restored 1910s finger wharf. Hotel Palisade and the Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel add eight-room boutique and heritage-pub stays a few streets apart. Between them they draw high-end leisure, weddings, senior executives from the Barangaroo towers five minutes away, and, distinctively, theatre audiences.

That last group shapes the bookings more than anything else. The Walsh Bay Arts Precinct on Hickson Road houses Sydney Theatre Company, Sydney Dance Company, Bangarra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Guests come for a season rather than a night, arrive with something that needs pressing before curtain-up, and have a deadline set by a stage manager rather than by them. Press and steam at $8.00 an item is the single most-booked service on this route.

Everything is collected and returned through the front desk, cleaned at our own facility rather than passed on, and covered by hands-on garment care. There is no minimum order, which matters in a precinct where the typical booking is one dress or one dinner jacket rather than a bag of washing, and pickup and delivery stays a flat $12 either way.

Don't see your hotel? We still collect from it.

Four hotels is the published list, but Millers Point and Walsh Bay also hold a good number of short-stay terraces and apartments on Lower Fort Street, Windmill Street, Argyle Place and Bettington Street, all inside postcode 2000. We collect from those too. If there is no front desk, choose a timed window at checkout and meet the driver at the door, which takes about a minute. Enter the address or building name when you book. ---

Effortless for your guests

How a Millers Point pickup works

  1. Book online

Choose press and steam, dry cleaning, wash and fold or stain treatment, then set your window. If you have a performance to make, put the start time in the notes and we will build the return around it rather than around the standard clock.

  2. Leave it at the concierge

Hand it to the desk on Kent Street or at the wharf entrance on Hickson Road. Guests here tend to be out walking Observatory Hill or down at the Wharf before a matinee, so nothing requires you to be upstairs when the driver arrives.

  3. We clean it properly

This precinct sends eveningwear, tailoring and delicates more than anything else. Each piece is checked against its care label, hand-finished where machine pressing would flatten the fabric, and marks are treated individually. Hands-on garment care applies to every order.

  4. Back to your hotel

Returned to the same reception desk, pressed and bagged. Express is six hours, so a morning collection at The Langham or Pier One is back long before an evening performance at the Roslyn Packer Theatre or Wharf 4/5.

Serving guests across Millers Point & Walsh Bay

Our route covers Kent Street, Argyle Place, Lower Fort Street, Windmill Street and Bettington Street, then out along Hickson Road to the converted finger wharves at Walsh Bay: the Roslyn Packer Theatre, Wharf 4/5 and Pier 2/3. We also collect around Observatory Hill and the National Trust Centre, and the walk between the furthest two properties on the run is under ten minutes, which is part of why express is so dependable here.

Barangaroo Metro station, which opened in 2024, sits at the precinct's southern edge, and it has quietly changed who stays here. Executives working in the International Towers increasingly book Millers Point for the walk and the harbour rather than the CBD. It is now our fastest-growing corporate segment in this precinct, sitting alongside the long-standing arts and wedding demand rather than replacing it, which means a Tuesday can involve a dinner suit and a linen jacket in the same collection.

The precinct sits between three of our other daily routes and blends into all of them. The Rocks begins on the other side of the Argyle Cut, Barangaroo is a five-minute walk south down Hickson Road, and Circular Quay and the Sydney CBD are both a short walk east. Same pricing, same express window, same concierge handover.

Questions guests ask

Yes, and it is our most common booking here. Press and steam turns around in as little as six hours. Book a morning collection through your hotel's concierge and it will be back at reception well before an evening performance at the Roslyn Packer Theatre or Wharf 4/5. Put the performance time in the notes when you book and we will work to that rather than to a generic six-hour clock.

Yes, both daily, through the concierge desk. Pier One's wharf address on Hickson Road and The Langham's Kent Street entrance are on the same run, along with Hotel Palisade on Bettington Street and the Lord Nelson at the top of Kent Street. Because the whole precinct is walkable, there is no difference in turnaround between the four properties.

Not at all. We collect at the hotel's reception inside the wharf building on Hickson Road, the same desk you check in at, so nothing depends on where your room sits along the pier. Our driver walks in like any other guest. It is worth putting Pier One rather than Walsh Bay in the booking, because the wharf numbers are shared with the theatres next door. I'm staying at the Lord Nelson or Hotel Palisade. There's no concierge desk as such. Both have a front desk or bar that will hold a bag for an hour, and we collect from them daily on the same run as The Langham and Pier One. Small heritage properties are completely normal for us here. Leave the bag with your name and room number, and if the desk is unattended when you are heading out, choose a timed collection window at checkout instead and meet the driver at the door.

In-house valet at the luxury end of this precinct is priced per garment and runs on a 24-hour cycle. We charge $8.00 for press and steam, $15.00 upwards for dry cleaning, $6.50 an item for wash and fold and a flat $12 for pickup and delivery, with no minimum order and express at six hours. For a single dress before a performance the difference is usually significant.

Yes. Collections run 7am to 7pm every day, including weekends and public holidays, which is deliberate in a precinct where Saturday matinees and evening shows drive most of the demand. A Saturday morning drop at the desk comes back the same afternoon on express, or the next day on standard if your performance is on the Sunday.

Running a hotel in Millers Point or Walsh Bay?

Between the theatre season, the wedding calendar and the executives now walking in from Barangaroo Metro, your desk fields a steady run of same-day pressing requests with hard deadlines attached. HGL handles them: guests book direct, we collect and return at reception, and delicate work is done at our own facility. Ask us about a standing morning window for your property.
