Hotel laundry and dry cleaning in Double Bay

No station, no beach crowd, no convention trade. What Double Bay has instead is Cross Street, Knox Street and guests travelling with clothes that should never see a bulk wash. Hand the garment bag to the concierge at the InterContinental or The Savoy and it comes back pressed and hung, often the same afternoon.

Guest laundry in Double Bay

A small market with an expensive wardrobe.

Double Bay is a small, affluent market with no train station, no beach tourism volume and no convention product, which makes its demand almost entirely luxury leisure, weddings and executive relocation. InterContinental Sydney Double Bay anchors the suburb with 140 rooms and a rooftop pool; The Savoy adds 40 boutique rooms on Knox Street; Urban Rest covers the corporate extended-stay layer on New South Head Road and down at the beach end.

The garment profile follows the market. What comes out of Double Bay is tailoring, eveningwear, silk and cashmere rather than volume washing: a wedding suit that has spent five hours folded in a garment bag, a beaded dress a hotel valet would rather not touch, a cashmere coat packed since London. Every piece is assessed individually against its care label before a process is chosen, and nothing is batched in with general laundry to save a cycle.

That is the work our facility is built around, and it is the reason we do not send anything to a wholesale plant. We collect from the concierge, clean in-house, and return garments pressed and on hangers to the desk. Press and steam is $8.00 an item on a six-hour express turnaround, dry cleaning from $15.00, and every order carries hands-on garment care.

Don't see your hotel? We still collect from it.

Double Bay's commercial hotel stock is genuinely small, so a large share of what we collect in the 2028 postcode comes from serviced apartments, whole-apartment short stays and private residences around Bay Street, Transvaal Avenue and the Darling Point edge. Book a pickup, enter the address, and we confirm a handover window with you directly rather than working through a desk. Guests staying just over the boundary at Edgecliff are on the same pass. ---

Effortless for your guests

How a Double Bay pickup works

  1. Book online

Choose your property, your service and a collection window. Flag anything delicate, embellished or structured in the notes so it is routed correctly on arrival.

  2. Hand it to the concierge

Leave the garment bag at the desk on Cross Street or Knox Street. In an apartment without a concierge, we confirm a handover time with you instead.

  3. Assessed piece by piece

Silk, cashmere, beading and structured tailoring are checked against the care label individually before any process is selected. Nothing is batched to save a cycle.

  4. Returned pressed and hung

Back at the concierge on hangers and covered, ready for the evening. Express from six hours, standard next day.

Serving guests across Double Bay

Our route covers Knox Street, Cross Street, Bay Street, Transvaal Avenue and the New South Head Road arterial, plus the Kiaora Lane precinct and the Cosmopolitan Centre. We collect near the Double Bay ferry wharf on the F4 Cross Harbour service, around Steyne Park, and along to the Murray Rose Pool at Redleaf Beach where a lot of the suburb's summer stays cluster.

Double Bay has no train station. Edgecliff, about 700 metres up the hill, is the nearest heavy rail, and in practice most guests here are driving, in a car service, or arriving by ferry. Very few will carry a garment bag anywhere at all, which is precisely why concierge collection is the whole proposition in this suburb rather than a convenience. The other constant is the calendar: weddings at the InterContinental, the spring social season, and a steady thread of executive relocation into the harbourside apartments.

The suburb sits at the centre of our eastern harbour run, so the same drivers cover Rose Bay two to three kilometres east, Bondi Junction about 2.5 kilometres south, and Bondi Beach and Potts Point on either side of it. One booking works wherever in that arc you happen to be staying.

Questions guests ask

Yes, and it is the majority of what we clean here. Silk, cashmere, structured tailoring and embellished eveningwear are assessed individually against the care label before any process is selected, and cleaned in-house by garment technicians rather than sent to a wholesale plant. Every order carries hands-on garment care.

Yes, and it is one of our most common Double Bay bookings. Press and steam is the fastest service in our range. Leave the garment bag with the concierge when you check in and book express — it is back at the desk the same day, usually within six hours, on hangers and covered.

It does not change ours — our drivers work the suburb by van and the collection window is 7am to 7pm like everywhere else. It changes the alternative. With Edgecliff 700 metres uphill and no rail in Double Bay itself, taking a garment bag out of the suburb yourself means a car or a walk you did not plan for. Collection from the concierge removes the question.

Yes. At the Urban Rest apartments and the private short stays around Bay Street and Transvaal Avenue we book a direct handover window with you rather than working through a desk. Enter the address and unit at checkout and we confirm a time before the driver arrives, so you are not waiting around.

No. Dry cleaning starts at $15.00 an item, press and steam at $8.00 and stain treatment at $10.00, whether the piece is a work shirt or a couture jacket. Where a garment needs a specialist process beyond the standard range we tell you the price before we start, never after. Pickup and delivery stays a $12 flat fee with no minimum order.

Express turnaround is six hours, so a morning collection covers a dinner at the Cosmopolitan Centre or an event at the hotel that night. Standard is next day. Express depends on same-day capacity, and Double Bay's wedding weekends fill early, so book the collection window the evening before where you can.
